Wellbeing Activities

During the Covid-19 lockdown, we are all feeling less secure and missing our everyday routines.  But just as doing exercise improves physical health, you and your child can do activities to boost your mental health.  The resources below may help your child deal with their feelings and their reactions to the current situation.

Virtual Awesome Learner Assembly - 07.05.2020

Here it is, this week's Awesome Learner Assembly which we have teamed with our very own VE Day tribute. We hope you all enjoy it - LINK

Messages of Kindness

Being kind to someone, even if it is simple, can make a huge difference to someone's day.  During this time the small acts of kindness we used to do every day without thinking are more difficult to do with social distancing in place.  Now we must think about how we can be kind to those at home and far away from us.  However big or small the kind acts we do, can make a huge difference to someone, such as writing a letter and sharing a message of support.

Our Christian Value 'Hope'- The Paralysed Man

Use this PowerPoint to help your child learn about the story of Jesus healing the paralysed man.  For increasing familiarity with the main events, please use the writing resource to engage discussions about the different key points and story structure.

Our Christian Value 'Hope':  The Prodigal Son

God the Father loves us and wants us to be happy.  When we make the wrong choices it makes him feel sad, but when we turn away from bad things it fills him with Joy and Hope.  Using the attached link for support, discuss times when you have made good and bad choices.  How did it make you and others feel?

Wellbeing: Positive Thinking

Use these challenge cards to engage your child in activities which help them feel good, think positively and help others to feel good too.  There are eight challenge cards, each with a different positive thinking activity on.  The activities can be done individually or as a family.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness teaches us to be aware of, and understand our emotions.  By practising mindfulness when we experience challenging emotions, it can help us to let them go.  This helps us to be more happy and content.  If you have time, have a go at trying mindfulness using the sheets below:

This term's Christian Value is... HOPE

This summer term we will be focussing on the value 'Hope'.  If you have an opportunity to explore this value together as a family there are some ideas, facts and challenges in the sheets below:
